APL1 Elite Cabin Lift
The Brief
The client wanted a seamlessly integrated design that used traditional materials in a contemporary way. The project needed to blend harmoniously with existing structures while subtly juxtaposing old and new elements—all achieved with minimal disruption to daily operations.
The primary challenges included:
Heritage constraints: Required sensitive design and materials to respect the 17th century Grade II listing while integrating modern functionality.

The Result
We completed the installation of an APL4 lift featuring a freestanding shaft, glazed panoramic doors, and an open-front configuration.
Amongst the surroundings of a 17th-century building, the lift blends seamlessly with the existing architecture while introducing a touch of modern elegance. It now provides accessible, inclusive travel to the seminar rooms for students all.
The project was completed on time and in accordance with all safety and regulatory standards.
