It comes with its own self-supporting structure and needs only an 85mm pit, so it suits buildings without a lift shaft. How much space and building work does the APL Hydraulic Platform Lift need?
The APL Hydraulic Platform Lift comes with a self-supporting structure clad in powder-coated or glazed panels, so no shaft is needed. It needs an 85mm pit, or an access ramp where a pit isn't possible, and standard footprints range from 1,120 × 1,400mm to 1,320 × 1,550mm, with bespoke sizes available. A dedicated 240V 13A supply is required. Exact dimensions, pit, headroom, structural support and openings are project-specific. A survey should verify measured space, fixing points, access for installation and any builder or electrical works before the design is signed off.
What can the APL Hydraulic Platform Lift carry, and what is its load capacity?
The APL Hydraulic Platform Lift carries up to 500kg: the safe working load is 400kg as standard, with a 500kg up-rated option. If a greater capacity is required, our APL Heavy-Duty Platform Lift is available with up to 1,000kg.
What happens to the APL Hydraulic Platform Lift during a power cut or fault?
The APL Hydraulic Platform Lift includes emergency battery lowering and a GSM autodialler as standard. The full procedure will be demonstrated upon handover.

What travel, entry and finish options are available for the APL Hydraulic Platform Lift?
The APL Hydraulic Platform Lift offers up to 7m of travel with same-side, through, adjacent or three-sided entry. Three standard platform sizes are available, or the platform can be made to measure to fit your space. Self-closing manual doors are standard, with powered doors, gates, centre-opening doors and 30- or 60-minute fire doors available, and the structure can be powder coated or glazed. Final travel, stops, door arrangement, clear openings and platform size are recorded in the project specification after survey.
