The APL Circular Glass Lift is built to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, which applies in the UK through the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
It is not designed to meet Part M of the Building Regulations or to satisfy duties under the Equality Act 2010, so it is not the right choice where a lift is required for accessibility compliance. For those projects, our APL Elite Cabin Lift or one of our platform lifts may be a better fit.

It is rated at 300kg per m² of platform area and comes in three diameters. The right choice depends on the users, route, available space and building constraints, so Alliance should confirm suitability through a site survey and written specification.
How much space and building work does the APL Circular Glass Lift need?
The APL Circular Glass Lift needs a 150mm pit and a minimum headroom of 2,350mm, and comes in diameters of Ø1,300, 1,450 or 1,600mm. It can sit centrally in a round stairwell or stand on its own. A survey should verify measured space, structural support, access for installation and any builder or electrical works before the design is signed off.
What can the APL Circular Glass Lift carry?
The APL Circular Glass Lift is rated at 300kg per m² of platform area, so the load it can carry depends on the diameter you choose. If a greater capacity is required, our APL Elite Cabin Lift carries up to 500kg and our APL Heavy-Duty Cabin Lift up to 1,500kg.
Which sizes are available?
Three round diameters are available: Ø1,300mm, Ø1,450mm and Ø1,600mm, each with a choice of cabin and door layouts. Door openings range from 600 to 850mm wide depending on the size and layout.
What doors and finishes are available?
The APL Circular Glass Lift has fully glazed cabin walls and curved full-glass doors, set in a powder-coated frame.
How is the APL Circular Glass Lift operated?
It can run in two modes: hold-to-run in the cabin with automatic operation at the floors, or automatic operation in the cabin and at the floors. We will recommend the right mode for how the lift will be used.

It is ideal in a central position inside a round stairwell, or freestanding, in homes, offices, museums and other public places.

The cost of an APL Circular Glass Lift depends on travel, number of stops, diameter, doors, finishes and any builder or electrical works. A site survey allows Alliance to price the actual configuration and state exactly what is included.
What servicing, warranty and project documentation come with the APL Circular Glass Lift?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift is backed by a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty (subject to our terms and conditions), with ongoing maintenance and 24/7 emergency call-out support available. The warranty term, service frequency and documents supplied at handover, such as drawings, manuals and declarations, are confirmed in writing for your project.
