Why Choose the APL7?

Designed for environments where reliability and load-handling capability are critical, the APL7 Hydraulic Goods Lift provides a practical solution for moving goods safely between floors. Its hydraulic operation delivers steady, controlled travel, making it particularly suitable for facilities that require consistent performance throughout the working day.

The APL7 is commonly specified where the movement of trolleys, pallets, stock, equipment, or supplies is an essential part of daily operations. It is well suited to warehouses, retail and supermarket back-of-house areas, hotels, hospitals, manufacturing sites, and commercial buildings, helping to streamline workflows and reduce manual handling.

With the ability to be tailored to suit different layouts and operational demands, the APL7 offers a dependable, long-term goods-handling solution that integrates seamlessly into a wide range of working environments.

Easy installation

The APL7 Hydraulic Goods Lift is designed for straightforward installation in both new-build and refurbishment projects. It can be supplied with bespoke platform sizes to fit within existing lift shafts, reducing the need for structural alteration.

Where no shaft is available, the APL7 can be delivered with a steel structure, providing a complete, ready-to-install solution. This flexibility allows for efficient installation in environments such as warehouses, mezzanine levels, and back-of-house areas, with minimal disruption to operations.

What is the maximum weight that can be carried?

The maximum weight capacity for our vertical lifts ranges from 300kg (47 stones) to 500kg (78 stones), though weights vary across different models.

What headroom (height above the top floor) is required?

The required headroom varies for each lift model, however, this is usually somewhere between 2,100mm and 23,500mm.

What is the maximum travel (floor height) of a vertical lift?

The maximum travel of our vertical lifts varies for each model, however, we can fit platform lifts up to 14.5m.

Do all the doors need to be on the same side as each other?

No – you can choose to exit at the back (known as open through) or even at the side (open adjacent).

What if my property is a grade listed building?

We are specialists in the design and installation of vertical platform lifts in historic and grade listed buildings – we’ve even fitted a lift in Westminster Abbey!

We have extensive knowledge in this area and can provide all the technical information you need for a planning application. We also work with a number of specialist architects and planners who will be happy to assist.

Can we have wooden doors to match our existing doors?

Yes – our APL1 and APL2 platform lifts can be fitted with wooden doors in a range of finishes. We can even match them to your existing doors.

The maximum legal speed is 0.15 meters per second.

Can I have sliding doors on a vertical platform lift?

Yes – our APL1 platform lift is available with automatic sliding doors.

Do we need a pit to have a vertical platform lift or home lift fitted?

No – although we prefer a small pit (between 60mm and 120 mm deep), we can easily fit a small ramp if this is not possible.

Will you carry out the required builders work?

We can either work with your chosen builder or we can carry out all the work ourselves. Our complete turn key solution keeps project timing to a minimum and our dedicated Project Manager will keep you informed at every stage of the process.

Can I fit a platform lift in an existing shaft?

Yes – Our APL1 model can be installed within an existing shaft and comes complete with a lift car.

How long does it take to install a vertical platform lift?

The lead time from order through to installation is usually around 6-11 weeks depending on the type of lift you choose. The fitting process usually takes between 2 and 5 days, depending on the complexity of the project.

Do I need three phase power?

No – all our platform lifts run off single phase 240v power supply.

What if I get stuck in the lift?

You won’t – all of our vertical platform lifts come with battery-powered emergency lowering, which will slowly lower the cabin to the ground floor in the event of a power outage. In addition, all our lifts are fitted with an auto-dialler or telephone.
