The challenge
This building at Gun Wharf in Chatham needed step-free access to an upper terrace overlooking the River Medway.
The lift had to stand outside, so the structure needed to be weatherproof and suit the brick and timber of the surrounding buildings.
Our solution: Elite Cabin Lift
We installed an APL Elite Cabin Lift in a self-supporting steel structure clad in smoked-grey glass and finished in RAL 8019, with a weatherproof roof and canopy. The steel is rated for outdoor exposure.
Glazed automatic sliding doors open on two adjacent sides, and key switches were later added at both landings.
