Scenic lighting is built in: light cuts on the central column, LED strips on the handrail and RGBW side lighting that projects colour onto the back wall and into the shaft. Change the colour and intensity from the touch screen or the app.

The APL Home Lift is designed for private homes. It is built to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, which applies in the UK through the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
It is not designed to meet Part M of the Building Regulations or to satisfy duties under the Equality Act 2010, so it is not the right choice where a lift is required for accessibility compliance. For those projects, our APL Elite Cabin Lift or one of our platform lifts may be a better fit.

What is the APL Home Lift, and who is it best for?
The APL Home Lift is a cabinless electric home lift for indoor use in private and residential buildings. It carries 300kg or 400kg with up to 12m of travel and 5 stops, inside a full-glass panoramic shaft. The right choice depends on the users, route, available space and building constraints, so Alliance should confirm suitability through a site survey and written specification.
How much space and building work does the APL Home Lift need?
The APL Home Lift needs a pit of just 50mm, or it can sit directly on the floor with a 50mm step, plus a minimum headroom of 2,350mm. Its panoramic shaft is fixed to a load-bearing wall and floor slabs, and platforms range from 600 x 800mm to 1,100 x 1,400mm. A survey should verify measured space, fixing points, access for installation and any builder or electrical works before the design is signed off.
What can the APL Home Lift carry, and what is its load capacity?
The APL Home Lift carries 300kg or 400kg, up to 6 people, depending on the set-up. If a greater capacity is required, our APL Elite Cabin Lift carries up to 500kg and our APL Heavy-Duty Cabin Lift up to 1,500kg.
What happens to the APL Home Lift during a power cut?
Batteries automatically return the platform to the main floor in a power cut, the emergency light stays on and the alarm remains powered so users can call for help.
How is the APL Home Lift controlled?
Floors are selected on a 15.6″ touch screen, and the platform moves when you touch or lean on the illuminated handrail. Landings have touch-sensitive call panels, and a smartphone app lets you manage the lighting and other options remotely.
Is the APL Home Lift quiet?
Yes. Its belt-driven brushless motor gives a smooth ride at around 50 dB, quieter than screw-driven home lifts.
Can the APL Home Lift be installed outdoors?
No. The APL Home Lift is designed for indoor use. For external installations, our APL Elite Cabin Lift is available for internal or external applications.
What affects the cost of an APL Home Lift installation?
The cost of an APL Home Lift depends on travel, number of stops, platform size, doors, finishes and any builder or electrical works. A site survey allows Alliance to price the actual configuration and state exactly what is included.
What servicing, warranty and project documentation come with the APL Home Lift?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift is backed by a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty (subject to our terms and conditions), with ongoing maintenance and 24/7 emergency call-out support available. The warranty term, service frequency and documents supplied at handover, such as drawings, manuals and declarations, are confirmed in writing for your project.
