The challenge
Grange Park Opera House is set in the grounds of a country house in Surrey, with performance and hospitality spaces over several levels.
The venue needed step-free access to its upper levels and roof terrace, using a lift that would sit well against the timber-clad building and its woodland setting.
The build
The steel structure for the tower was erected on site and built up floor by floor inside a full scaffold, ready for the glazing, cladding and lift equipment.
Our solution: Elite Cabin Lift
We installed an APL Elite Cabin Lift in an external glazed tower, serving three floors over 9,775mm of travel from a 210mm pit. Automatic doors open onto each level, including the roof terrace.
The dark grey structure suits the timber cladding, and the red car interior with a full-height window looks out over the trees.
