The challenge
A student accommodation building in Acton needed its existing lift, which serves the bin store, replaced.
The new lift had to fit the original shaft, which meant deepening a solid concrete pit, and stand up to heavy daily use with wheeled bins.
Our solution: Heavy-Duty Cabin Lift
We removed the old lift, lowered the concrete pit by 300mm using diamond stitch drilling, and set up a new controller in the neighbouring bin room. The new APL Heavy-Duty Cabin Lift is a 1,000kg through-car lift with 1,200mm automatic doors and EI120 fire-rated landing doors.
Stainless steel, tread-plate flooring, bump rails and wall protection keep it looking good under hard use.
