Touch screen control and a smart handrail
The APL Touch series puts a multifunction touch screen console at the heart of the cabin. Select your floor, change the RGBW car lighting, backgrounds and floor icons, and check the lift’s operating status, all from one intuitive display.
Automatic installations include an elegant vertical handrail for a secure grip. On hold-to-run installations, a smart horizontal handrail with an integrated sensing system moves the lift while your hand stays in contact with it.

A cabin lift gives you the comfort of a passenger lift with a far smaller footprint, a low pit and reduced headroom, so it fits where a conventional lift will not.
Designed around your building
Our cabin lifts are sized to the space you have. The APL Elite Cabin Lift starts from just 500 x 550mm for tight refurbishments, while the APL Heavy-Duty Cabin Lift goes up to 1,700 x 2,500mm for larger loads, both with low pit and headroom requirements.

Installed in around a week
Where needed, the lift is supplied with its own supporting structure, so there is no traditional lift shaft to build. We coordinate the building and electrical works around it, and most installations are completed in around a week, depending on site conditions.

Our APL Elite and APL Heavy-Duty cabin lifts are CE marked to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, which applies in Great Britain through the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Depending on your project, requirements can also include Part M of the Building Regulations and the Equality Act 2010.

What is the APL Elite Cabin Lift, and who is it best for?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift is a cabin lift intended for homes and commercial properties. With bespoke cabin sizes available to the nearest 10mm it suits a varying variety of applications and site conditions. The lift is available with single press operation and automatic sliding doors much like a conventional passenger lift. The right choice depends on the users, loads, route, available space and building constraints, so Alliance should confirm suitability through a site survey and written specification.
How much space and building work does the APL Elite Cabin Lift need?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift can be installed within a masonry shaft or provided with a steel structure. Exact platform/cabin dimensions, pit, headroom, structural support and openings are project-specific. A survey should verify measured space, fixing points, access for installation and any builder or electrical works before the design is signed off.
What can the APL Elite Cabin Lift carry, and what is its load capacity?
The capacity is up to 500kg. If a greater capacity is required, our APL Heavy-Duty Cabin Lift is available with up to 1,500kg.
What happens to the APL Elite Cabin Lift during a power cut or fault?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift uses 230V single-phase and includes automatic emergency battery lowering and alarm/communication. In the event of a power failure the lift will automatically proceed to the lowest floor and open its doors. The full procedure will be demonstrated upon handover.
Can the APL Elite Cabin Lift support Part M and Equality Act accessibility requirements?
Yes, the APL Elite Cabin Lift can be supplied as Part M compliant provided the correct specification is met and site conditions allow it. The project team should assess the Equality Act 2010, relevant Building Regulations guidance, applicable lift standard, fire strategy, circulation space and user needs.
Can the APL Elite Cabin Lift use sliding doors and single-press controls?
Yes. The published APL Elite Cabin Lift specification offers sliding doors and single-press operation. If space constraints do not allow for sliding doors we have an intuitive touch sensitive handrail available for residential installations to make a constant pressure functionality much more user friendly.
What travel, entry and finish options are available for the APL Elite Cabin Lift?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift offers up to 18m of travel, swing or sliding doors, single-press operation, hydraulic or traction drive, and internal or external installation. Finishes include laminate, skinplate, painted and stainless steel walls as standard with bespoke options available as well as glazed shafts and a range of floor finishes. Final travel, stops, door arrangement, clear openings, cabin size and finishes are recorded in the project specification after survey.
What affects the cost of an APL Elite Cabin Lift installation?
The cost of an APL Elite Cabin Lift depends on travel, number of stops, cabin size, whether a shaft or steel structure is needed, doors, finishes, and any builder or electrical works. A site survey allows Alliance to price the actual configuration and state exactly what is included.
What servicing, warranty and project documentation come with the APL Elite Cabin Lift?
The APL Elite Cabin Lift is backed by a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty (subject to our terms and conditions), with ongoing maintenance and 24/7 emergency call-out support available. The warranty term, service frequency and documents supplied at handover, such as drawings, manuals and declarations, are confirmed in writing for your project.
