Set in one of London’s most prestigious hotels, this modern café space provides a stylish gallery-like setting while the menu complements the relaxed experience serving artisanal coffee and culinary delights.
Visitors of the café can also travel downstairs to the gallery, which features beautiful rotating exhibitions. Alliance Platform Lifts have created an accessible solution with the APL7, where everyone can travel down to the gallery with ease.

The Brief
The client wanted the lift to be as inconspicuous as possible, blending into its surroundings while offering multiple functionalities: the transportation of goods as well as accessibility for the public. This meant that the lift needed to have a capacity of 1000kg in order to haul heavy goods down to the gallery.
Primary Challenges:
Concealment of a Large Platform: Achieving a non-bulky appearance despite the need for a spacious platform, ensuring the lift remains unobtrusive.
Strict timescales: Making sure the lift installation was on schedule, with no room for delays, to align with overall project milestones.
The Result
We completed the installation of an APL7 – our signature goods lift. We provided a solution with a custom platform size and headroom to allow maximum internal platform space as this was the primary focus of the lift. This was to enable the movement of exhibition items as well as disabled access use. This lift has glazed swing doors and a powder coated structure with a mixture of solid panel and glazed cladding.
Although we had time constraints, the project was completed on time and had minimal disruption to the working café.
